Stroll Through the Hood
A Pandemic Series
“Stroll Through the Hood” captures a year of vibrant solitude, where empty streetscapes and quiet corners are painted with vivid hues, each stroke evoking stories of resilience and hidden narratives.

Dressed to the 9s
While taking a stroll through the hood, I saw the firemen of Ladder 9 taking the trucks out to clean them and make them sparkly, I find American fire trucks utterly fascinating.

Till the Curtain Comes Down
This house was built by a descendant of one of the oldest Dutch families of Jersey City, Wilhelm Brinkerhoff. The building was the residence of the state senator until his passing in 1931. Following Brinkerhoff’s tenure, the house underwent a transformation into a Christian mission, complete with a radio station atop its roof for a short period of time. The structure, now partly overgrown with plants, evokes a sense of mystery like the tower of Rapunzel.

Going Dutch
Four beautiful Dutch Queen Anne houses built around 1889 by Garret von Horne. When you inch real close you could almost think you are in the Netherlands on vacation …almost …good enough in a time you cannot leave for a vacation in Europe.

Neo Greek to Me
Five Neo Greek Style homes in my neighborhood, making me happy on the way to the post office - a dreadful task. But what are the stories behind those buildings, who thought of all the details.
(Note in 2024- Little did I know that I would soon be living in one of those houses and even write a book about it)
